Abstract

Based on the classic SIR model, the paper constructs an Epidemic Model with nonlinear incidence rate and cure rate under the influence of media. The model is qualitatively analyzed and simulated and verified by Matlab. The results indicated that the media played a role in decreasing the number of infected persons and the peak value of infection. The delay of treatment greatly increased the possibility of aggravating infection and inadvertently formed a vicious circle and increased the peak value of infection.

Keywords: SIR model, media coverage, stability, cure rate.
